GNI/Shanghai Genomics to Start China Clinical Trials of Liver Drug

GNI Ltd received an Investigational New Drug approval of F351, its novel treatment for liver fibrosis/cirrhosis, a currently unmet need. Shanghai Genomics, the China-based affiliate of GNI, is preparing for a Phase I clinical trial of F351. Two weeks ago, Shanghai Genomics was granted a patent in China for the drug. The business offices for GNI are in Tokyo, but R&D is carried out in Fukuoka (Japan), Cambridge (UK) and China. It has an intellectual property office in San Jose, California, and its clinical trial operations are carried out through Shanghai Genomics, located in the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park of Shanghai.
